About

Hi, I’m Julianna — wife, mama, and the heart behind August, Always.

I’m married to my encouraging and supportive husband, Dakota, and together we are raising our two boys — August and Sawyer. They are both fearfully and wonderfully made, and being their mother is holy ground.

Our home is full of laughter, noise, late-night talks, therapy appointments, and the kind of love that reshapes you.

This blog isn’t just about autism.

It’s about our family — and the God who sustains us through it.

August and Sawyer

Our Story

When August was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, our world shifted.

There were questions we didn’t have answers to.

There were tears we didn’t expect.

There were moments of grief for the picture we once imagined.

But there was also something deeper forming.

A stronger marriage.

A softer heart.

A greater dependence on the Lord.

Through every step, we have felt God gently teaching us patience, perspective, and a love that looks different than we once understood.

Why I Started This Blog

I started August, Always as a place to process, document, and encourage.

Here you’ll find:

• The reality of raising a child on the spectrum

• The impact on marriage and sibling relationships

• Therapy wins and hard days

• Honest reflections from a mom learning to trust God in the unknown

• Small victories that deserve celebration

I am not an expert.

I am not a therapist.

I am simply a mother who loves her sons fiercely and trusts in the Lord.

A Promise

This blog is a love letter to August.

But it’s also a reflection of our whole family.

Because autism does not exist in isolation.

It lives in our routines, our conversations, our growth, our patience, and our grace.

And through it all, we remain —

August, always.

Family, always.

August
